⭐ Islamic Concept of Charity (Hadith on Charity)


1. Narrated Abu Masud Al-Badri: The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
“A man’s spending on his family is a deed of charity.”
Reference : [Sahih al-Bukhari 4006, Book 64, Hadith 57]

2. Anas bin Malik narrated that : the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Indeed charity extinguishes the Lord’s anger and it protects against the evil death.”
Reference : [Jami` at-Tirmidhi 664, Book 7, Hadith 48] Grade : Da’if (Darussalam)

3. The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
“If any Muslim plants any plant and a human being or an animal eats of it, he will be rewarded as if he had given that much in charity.”
Reference : [Sahih al-Bukhari 6012, Book 78, Hadith 43]

4. It was narrated from Salman bin ‘Amir that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Giving charity to a poor person is charity, and (giving) to a relative is two things, charity and upholding the ties of kinship.”

5. Narrated `Aisha: A man said to the Prophet (ﷺ),
“My mother died suddenly, and I think that if she could speak, she would have given in charity. May I give in charity on her behalf?” He said, “Yes! Give in charity on her behalf.”

6. Ibn ‘Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) having said this:
“He who gets back his charity is like a dog which vomits, and then returns to that and eats it.”

7. Jabir bin Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Every good is charity. Indeed among the good is to meet your brother with a smiling face, and to pour what is left in your bucket into the vessel of your brother.”

8. Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Charity does not diminish wealth, Allah does not increase a man in anything for his pardoning (others) but in honor, and none humbles himself for Allah but Allah raises him.”

9. ‘Adi bin Hatim (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,
“Protect yourself from Hell-fire even by giving a piece of date as charity.”

10. ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
The likeness of the one who gives charity then takes it back is that of a dog who vomits then goes back and eats its vomit.”
